Why bulky light boxes cost more
Airlines and couriers price by chargeable weight — the higher of actual kg and volumetric kg — because space on aircraft is limited. A carton of clothes can weigh little but occupy a large volume.
Simple volumetric formula
A common formula is Length × Width × Height (cm) ÷ 5000 = volumetric kg (divisors can vary by partner — we confirm on quote). Example: 40×30×20 cm = 24,000 ÷ 5000 = 4.8 kg volumetric. If scale weight is 2 kg, you pay on 4.8 kg.
Pack smarter for overseas rates
Use the smallest sturdy carton. Cut void space. Avoid oversized gift boxes. For documents, prefer envelopes. Accurate dimensions at enquiry time prevent surprises at pickup from Delhi NCR.
